about
The last song recorded for karmaland, it was written and recorded all in one day, in a fit of inspiration, Christopher says.
"It started as a simple jam on keyboards, but it was quickly developing and I had to madly switch on all the computer recording equipment to capture what i was doing," he says.
"I improvised vocals, then sat down and fleshed them out. I recorded them in intending them to be scratch vocals only. Ryan heard them and made me promise not to re-record them."
The ballad is Christopher's proudest song, lyrically, and serves as a real world emancipation from old demons.
lyrics
this is an open letter it closes up the past
and I wrote it to myself to say how lucky I feel today
I need to thank you very much I need to thank you very much
for being such a bitch to me

you were so proud of how rude you were when you ran
but it was the best day of my life by far

gone without a trace
less time gone to waste

I'm watching the sunrise on my room
and I have to say
I like the way I get to watch it on my own
not tell you all about it on the phone
there may not be roses for me now
but I say at least the vase isn't leaking anymore on my floor
the pleasure of the past is knowing that it's gone
although time is no cure but I'm feeling better
and I know just how I feel
I feel like living again

gone without a trace
less time gone to waste

and I don't care anymore
I don't care anymore
I don't care anymore
I don't care anymore
I don't care anymore
I don't care anymore
I don't care anymore
I don't care anymore
I don't care anymore
I don't care anymore
